Adidas 3TS.003 Global Campaign.
The 3ST.003 model was born from a new process entitled WORKSHOP.
The premise behind the workshop process was to pursue newness while exploring the Adidas archive. In this instance, the 3ST.003 featured an aesthetic inspired by vintage Adidas fencing shoes with advanced tech features made specifically for skateboarding. To communicate the product story into a visual language I worked with DIA studios to animate clean typography in a series of waves and curves that were taken from the sew lines on the shoe itself. The final campaign creative was modern yet classic with animation that pushed potential of clean and simple typography to new territory.
Kinetic Type.
Clean typography is timeless. Animation and motion graphics are the new normal for the ever more digital world we live in. I supplied DIA studios with all elements, type, and creative direction including the “wavy lines” inspired from the sew lines on the actual shoe itself.
The Final Edit.
We ended up using the kinetic type elements subtly in the final edit as to not overpower the action content itself. The editor we brought in for the content piece added some stop motion techniques to some of the action and product shots to help bring a bit of analog grit to the piece to help speak to the ‘past informs present’ aspect of the shoe design.
